This qualification reflects the role of builders, site managers, and managers of small to medium-sized building businesses who apply their knowledge of structural principles, codes, standards, and legal requirements to Class 1 and 10 constructions (up to a maximum of two storeys) and Class 2 to 9 Type C constructions. These professionals are responsible for planning and supervising safe building and construction work, preparing and administering contracts, and applying quality principles to various building and construction projects.
Building relates to the construction aspect, while Site Management involves managing the external factors that affect construction, such as deploying crews with specialized skills (including builders), ensuring product compliance, managing contract-based specialized skills, and handling challenges related to weather and site location.
